George Pullman, born in Brockton, New York in 1831, revolutionized rail travel through the company he created, the Pullman Palace Car Company. Historian Andrew Bullen, resident of Pullman, Illinois, has written extensively about George M. Pullman. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Bullen has undertaken projects for the Pullman House History Project and the Historic Pullman Foundation in Chicago.

Join Pullman historian and resident Andrew Bullen as he shares five “big” stories of Pullman – George Pullman and his family, the Company and its products, the town of Pullman, the people of Pullman, and labor and race issues. This presentation will weave these stories together to describe the fascinating history and encouraging future of this Chicago neighborhood and national monument, showing that the story of Pullman is the story of America.
