Known for his work designing the town of Pullman, Solon S. Beman’s work extends well beyond, including Chicago’s celebrated Fine Arts Building. Working during one of the most celebrated eras of architecture, his legacy has been outshined by fellow Chicago contemporaries such as Sullivan, Wright, Burnham, Holabird, etc. Modern memory may favor these names, however, Beman was considered one of the most respected working architects of his day.
